Visitors from Australia & NewZealand: Behavioral pattern
A survey conducted by Ministry of Tourism took feedbacks from 902 visitors traveling to India.
The survey was segmented into 3 parts:
[A] Type of accommodation availed in India
- The results were surprising to many industry watchers
- More than 50% of the respondents stayed with their family and friends
- The second most favored mode of accommodation was the budget and mid-range hotels
[B] Levels of satisfaction with service providers in India (%)
- Taxi operators, Tourist guides and Tour operators got the most unfavorable feedback
- Hotel Staff got a thumbs up from majority of the travelers
[C] Mode of local travel within India
- Majority traveled by air alone (50%)
- Almost 39% availed both road and air transport
